Having a hard time fretting a transition…Skip some strings
I was working on the song, “I Bowed on my knees and cried holy.”
Not a too terribly difficult song, although I messed it up in the middle…
Here it is in YouTube…
In any case, I have this move from an open G to an Open G7…
Now that is a big stretch…I don’t have a too terribly difficult time with G because I have been doing it a lot…
But G7…it looks a lot like the open C chord, but it is a little more stretchy….
And the jump from G to G7 is pretty difficult…
At least for me…
So what do I need to do?
I need to go head and follow Justin Sandercoe’s great method…and do some one minute changes and just work on G to G7…
But I hate one minute changes….
But those are a very effective part of Justin Sandercoe’s method. Check out his method by clicking here.
But…yeah…I hate it…
and anyway…I will practice the transition, but I will get to it…so what do I do RIGHT NOW?
I’m glad you asked….
Here is what you do….
Skip the top 2 strings and just play the other 4…
Skip the low E and the A string…
Play the other 4 strings…
And put your first finger in the first fret on the High E string…
That is a whole lot easier…
and as you can see in the video….it is working for me…
Check it out…
Till next time…
